Overview An RFI is a Request for Information, also commonly referred to as a Technical Query. Its characteristics are as follows:
  • It is raised (internal) or received (external),
  • It is distributed for answers,
  • Answers are received,
  • If external, a response is sent to the originator.

Outgoing RFI An outgoing RFI is raised and desptached for reposnse to the rec
  • It is raised by an Internal Person, i.e. someone in your organisation,
  • It may be addressed to either an internal or an external person,
  • It is distributed to the addressee, and any other people, for action within a specified number of days
  • It is copied to the originator so that it appears in their list of Own Mail.

Responses are recorded as separate documents but linked to the original RFI. Responses are recorded as follows:

  • from external people, only by a document controller, who may also record responses from internal people,
  • whereas responses from internal people may be made from within the User Actions module.
