Plants - What's new, and what's gone.

This list has ben created from the resources on this web site. It is a comparison of:

• What we had [1960's] - taken from the Linn Park Nature Trail Guide Book [showing post no] and, 
• What we have now [2010 +] - simply a listing of the plants from the three pages of photographs [indicating the photographer], namely:
  • Meadows, Rivers, and Marshes, and,
  • Woodland Edge, and,
  • Woodland.
• What we had at the Millennium. The original path around the stables wood was made at the Millennium, and a guide published. The path passes many wood carvings by Robert Coia. The wild plants are listed which are included in the list [showing Ref No].

The sources of the references given are as follows:

• Royal Horticultural Society
• Flowers of Lanarkshire - Area VC77 on this map. In fact Linn Park is in Area VC76 [Renfrewshire] right on the boundary. The Vice-County [VC] boundaries were originally defined by H.C. Watson in 1852 and have resisted countless local government reorganisations since they were drawn out. They are the basis for recording what grows or lives, where in the natural world.
